Lyon arrives in Boston with supplies from Ireland.
February 19, 1631
(OS-2/9) Sent for by Gov. John Winthrop, the ship carries food as well as lemon juice to treat the many cases of scurvy. Due to ice in Boston Harbor, the ship does not dock in Boston until four days after it arrived at Nantasket. Winthrop proclaims a “Day of fasting and prayer to God for relief” to celebrate the ship’s arrival on February 22, 1631.
